It's a pleasure to have you here. My name is David Randall. I founded Alive Day Apparel on four concepts. First, to honor the sacrifice of our wounded and fallen Veterans by spreading the inspiring message of what Alive Day means and to remind us to cherish each day as a gift. Secondly, to empower individuals to embrace their stories of survival and strength through our clothing. Third, that the resolve to overcoming traumatic injury or illness deserves celebrating and lastly, to create quality leisure and athletic apparel at an affordable price.
When I was active duty in the Navy I was diagnosed with von Hippel-Lindau disease or VHL disease. I’ve been thru five brain surgeries, four spinal cord surgeries, and one kidney surgery. This journey and disease paralyzed me and I found myself medically retired from the military at 27.
I was fortunate to discover para-sports, specifically, paracycling or handcycling. I found purpose, community, and a will to keep thriving despite my circumstances. I am a 13x National Handcycling Champion and 2018 Handcycle Relay World Champion.
The world is filled with stories like mine. People who faced physical and mental challenges as a result of traumatic injury or illness. I am proud to be a part of a community of people with disabilities who made the choice to look at life for what they can do and adapt for what they can’t.
Alive Day Apparel was born out of a deep admiration for the strength, diversity, and spirit of people with disabilities, as well as individuals who have faced a life-changing event. Our journey began with a simple yet powerful idea: to create apparel that not only reflects the individuality of each person but also empowers them to express who they are with confidence. Inspired by the stories of real people-those who overcome obstacles, embrace their uniqueness, and strive to make a real difference- we set out to design clothing that is versatile and dynamic as the individuals who wear it. We believe fashion should be inclusive, accessible, and above all, a source of empowerment. Our collections are not just about looking good-they're about feeling good and standing/rolling tall in who you are.
At ADA, we're more than just an apparel company. We're a movement fueled by the stories and dreams of those who wear our gear. Together, we're building a brand that celebrates the human spirit, one design at a time.
